painting of the Prize Peonies in the formal garden of Saint Gaudens National Historic site.

This piece is inspired by my oil painting of peonies (30” x 40”). I wanted to express this subject in the medium of clay and highlight its most important features as a Japanese woodcut might.
The prize peonies were grown in the formal gardens of Saint Gaudens National Historic site (Cornish, NH).
